Preferred Skills/Experience: Telemetry remote monitoring and use of rapid response teams preferred. Post angiogram and post MI experience preferred. IV insulin protocols preferred. Colostomy care and feeding tube care/management preferred. Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure experience preferred. Blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting IVs preferred. Heparin, insulin, and PCA experience preferred. CVA and pre/post neuro surgery experience preferred. Ortho trauma experience preferred. Surgical drain experience preferred. Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tank experience preferred. Wound care/wound vac experience preferred. Previous Charge Experience: Preferred Teaching hospital experience is preferred. Community hospital experience is preferred.
Special Requests: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. RTO: Ideally no more than 5 days.
Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. General med-surg and overflow stroke unit caring for respiratory illness, infection, stroke, trauma patients, and surgical overflow. Nursing treatments include dressing changes including VACs, chest tubes, IV medications, central line care, foley catheter care, drain care, tube feedings, wound care, and lab/test interpretation to assist with diagnosis and treatment.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No on-call required.
Floating Requirements: Will float as needed to other MedSurg and like units.
