Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Acute care experience must be current/today (and working consistently in the last 12 months) and must be in the specialty with which they are applying. Med/Surg experience required. MS/Tele, telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry on-unit monitoring, use of rapid response teams, feeding tube care and management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting IVs.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Hematology/oncology experience preferred but not required.

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities if you have an active application to any Ohio State University facilities.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Patient diagnoses include lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute leukemias, chronic leukemias, sickle cell disease, other non-hematologic cancers, and other benign hematology. Unit details include chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome, insulin drips, and heparin drips. Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekends are variable based on unit needs. Self-schedule requests are entered before balancing and final schedule posting. First week of orientation is Mon-Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor.

Floating Requirements: Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology units.
