Required Credentials:
- Any hit on your license must be disclosed.
- Hits will be sent to UVA leadership for approval prior to proceeding.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Level 1 trauma experience preferred.
- Previous Charge Experience: Preferred.
Special Requests:
- Unable to approve time off around July 4th.
- Travelers are not eligible to return after reaching 365 total assignment days, regardless of time away.
Unit Details:
- Split acute telemetry and intermediate care unit for thoracic, cardiac, and vascular surgical patients.
- Procedures and patient population include CABG, cardiac valve repair and replacement, AAA repair, lung resection, esophagectomy, heart and lung transplant, limb amputations, femoral popliteal bypass, carotid endarterectomy, post-op open heart and thoracic surgeries, revascularization therapies, TPA, and acute heart failure with aggressive diuresis.
- TIMU patients may include fresh lobectomies and patients requiring select cardiac drips and arterial lines; some are direct admits from PACU or transfers from CVICU.
- Adult and geriatric patient population.
- Uses Glucomander and nurse-driven heparin, ketamine, and nitro drips.
- Nurse-patient ratios are 4 or 5:1 in acute care and 3:1 in TIMU.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
- Every other weekend and every other holiday.
- Can approve 40 hours for time off.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
