Travel Nurse (RN) - Home Health

An interview with the unit manager may not be available prior to offer. If you do not interview with the unit manager, you may interview with a third-party clinical nurse manager.

Required Credentials:
Valid driver's license required.

Unit Details:
Uses OASIS for charting.
Home health work includes OASIS admissions at all time points, episode management, doctor calls, coordination of care, and timely EMR documentation.
Clinical work includes wound care, IVs, port care, lab draws, and chronic disease management.
Caseload is 20-25 patients, averaging 4.5 visits per day.
Daily travel may range from 50-100 miles depending on territory, patient census, and staff availability; mileage is minimized when possible.

Shift & Scheduling:
Potential to flex start and end times if needed.
Every 5th weekend.
Holidays as needed.
Limited on-call coverage may be required, possibly once every other week; the clinician working the weekend for admissions or routine visits may also be on call that assigned weekend.
On-call work most often involves triaging calls; the clinician determines whether an issue can be handled by phone or requires an RN visit, such as Foley catheter troubleshooting or a wound-vac issue.
On-call calls must be returned within 15 minutes. If the clinician does not call back within 15 minutes, the answering service will place a second call to the clinician and then the on-call clinical manager.
The clinician is expected to contact the patient by phone and triage the call accordingly.
Flexible contract hours: Set weekly hours apply outside orientation week and holidays when the unit is closed.

Floating Requirements:
May float to other territories to assist when needed during low census.
