Travel Nurse (RN) - Neurologic Intensive Care Unit

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Credentials:

• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Required Skills/Experience:

• IV start, telemetry, ventilators, and intracranial pressure monitoring.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Special Requests:

• Cannot apply to any Ohio State University facilities if you have an active application to any of the James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities.

Unit Details:

• Adult patient population.
• Bedside procedures such as tracheostomy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG), central line and arterial line placement, and EVD placement.
• Patient population includes ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, seizures, neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia gravis and Guillain-Barré syndrome, meningitis, and post-operative neurosurgery patients undergoing spinal surgery, craniotomies, and cerebrovascular surgery.
• Patients requiring invasive neuromonitoring such as EVD and ICP monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and EEG monitoring.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Day/night rotation every 4 weeks.
• Every other weekend.
• For night shift, weekend shifts are Friday and Saturday nights; Sunday is not considered a weekend.

Floating Requirements:

• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity and to different units within the OSU organization as needed.
