Preferred Skills/Experience: Charge experience preferred.
Special Requests: Assignment length may vary: 16-26 weeks. Any employment gaps greater than 90 days must be explained. Reliable transportation is strongly recommended; personal or rental vehicle may be needed because public transportation is not accessible in this area.
Unit Details: Critical access emergency department caring for newborn to geriatric patients. Uses Pyxis, Alaris IV pumps, Philips monitors, and a Ranger blood warmer. Unit procedures include ESI triage, IV insertion, drips/infusions, performing EKGs, restraint application, procedural sedation, and ambulance transports. STEMI, stroke, and trauma patients are transported to a higher level of care and may require RN transport. Pediatric patients needing a higher level of care are usually transported. General surgery services are available. Uses telemedicine and telestroke consultations through UVMMC.
Shift & Scheduling: Minimum every other weekend. Mainly night shift (1900-0700), with some mid shifts (1300-0100) as needed to fill gaps. Schedule may be adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs. Holidays as required; must be flexible with schedule.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
