Travel Nurse (RN) - Step Down Unit

Required Skills/Experience:
15+ months minimum of IMCU, PCU, Stepdown, or Med Surg/Med Tele experience is required.
New travelers are welcomed with at least 24 months of experience.
Experience with BiPAP, trachs, and Airvo is required.
Experience with Levophed and Cardizem is required.
Experience with heparin, amiodarone, dopamine, nitro, and dobutamine is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Insulin drip experience is highly preferred.

Special Requests:
Any past UnityPoint Health employee, whether an FTE or PRN member of the UnityPoint Health float pool, cannot work travel in another market regardless of which facility they currently work at or have worked at within the past 12 months. If they worked travel at UnityPoint Health but were not an FTE or PRN employee, the separation policy does not apply.
Any employment gaps over 30 days must be clearly explained.

Unit Details:
Patient ratios average 1:5-6; critical patients are 1:2-3.
Patient population includes Med Surg patients requiring BiPAP and critical drips.
Drips include insulin, Levophed, heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, nitro, and dobutamine; propofol is used only if transferred out.
Specialty equipment includes BiPAP, trachs, home CPAP, and Airvo.

Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 36 per week may be accommodated if preferred.
Every other weekend.
Unless the unit is closed, contractors are required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year.
No call.
