Special Requests:

  • Must take full 6 months off from any Sanford Health or Good Samaritan Society location as well.
  • Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.
  • Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
  • Travel pairs accepted.
  • Must note in submission if clinician has ever worked for Marshfield. If clinician previously worked with Marshfield, they must have an end date 6 months prior to their submission date.

Unit Details:

  • Travelers can triage after review and understanding of facility policies and procedures.
  • Patients are typically held in the department, with attached ACU rooms used for overflow; separate psych/seclusion capability.
  • No 24/7 in-house security; uses maintenance, local PD, and internal code backup.
  • Nurse: patient ratio 1:3-4 during day more at night after 11p, after 3 am only 2 RN until 7a.
  • Variable ED population including trauma, motor vehicle accidents, hunting, and farm-related injuries; not a stroke or STEMI receiving center and sends those patients out.
  • ED physician in house 24/7; charge nurse takes an assignment.
  • 24/7 support includes huck coverage, CNAs, medics, LPNs, RT, and phlebotomy. No monitor tech; central monitoring station with RN monitoring.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Variable 12-hour shift start times: 10am, 12pm, 3pm.
  • Manager makes the schedule, tries to avoid 1 on and 1 off patterns, and requires rotation through variable start times.
  • Every other weekend: Saturday and Sunday.
  • Holiday requirement: 2/3 at least for winter needs; otherwise usually every other during the contract.
  • May volunteer to go home.

Floating Requirements:

  • Inpatient for helping hands.
