Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read and interpret strips.
Required Credentials: You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Will consider blocked schedule based on unit needs. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
Unit Details: Nurse:patient ratios: 1:4-5, occasional 5-6 on nights, PCU level care overflow on the unit 1:3. Adult and geriatric patients; cardiac caths, EP studies, pacers, ETOH, COVID BiPAP, occasional general surgical patients with cardiac history, medical patients with cardiac history, pneumonia/COVID, acute-on-chronic conditions, influenza, sepsis. Titrates drips including Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low-dose Dopamine; no Levo. BiPAP, trachs, Airvo; tele portable monitors and in-room monitors, with a monitor tech at the nurses station. Charge nurse on both shifts and may occasionally carry a light load of 2-3 patients. Nurse aides/PCT support with a goal ratio of 1:10.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Every other holiday.
Floating Requirements: First to float. Float to all areas as helping hands; PCU for a full patient load, Med-Surg for a full patient assignment, and some ER holds/boarding.
