Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: Ventilator, trach, art line, vasopressor and sedation management, and central line blood draw skills required.
Preferred Skills/Experience: CVVH/CRRT and EVD preferred.
Unit Details: Neuro ICU population includes ischemic strokes (post TNK, thrombectomies), hemorrhagic strokes (SAH, IPH, IVH, SDH), seizures, spinal surgeries, and brain mass resections/biopsies. Also cares for medical respiratory overflow and general medical ICU overflow. Patient ratios: 1:1-2, 1:3 for mixed acuity status. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, GE monitors, and Medtronic EVDs.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call. Every other holiday. RTO up to 7 days. Schedule cycle: 6-week increments. Fatigue policy: cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts.
Floating Requirements: May float to ED Holding (boarded patients waiting for an inpatient bed) with 1:3-4 ratio, other ICUs (MRICU, SICU, CICU, CVICU), medical-surgical unit (1:3 ratio), sitter, and PACU surge (1:3-4).
