Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read and interpret own telemetry strips.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching facility experience highly preferred.

Required Credentials: Zero tolerance for hits on license or background hits, regardless of how long ago.

Special Requests: Must disclose any previous employment with the facility on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for DNU check. If an interview with the manager is required, note it in your special requests. Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level if applicable, patient ratio, teaching facility, EMR used, patient types/duties, and float areas. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job. All travelers must have one manager/supervisor reference from the most recent/current assignment. DON and charge nurse references are not accepted. The facility will call references directly to verify. Block schedules and matching travel partner schedules are not guaranteed. No holiday RTO will be approved. Holiday call-ins will result in contract cancellation.

Unit Details: Nurse:patient ratio is 1:6 and can increase due to staffing and acuity. Patient population includes pre- and post-CABG care, cath lab, chest pain, new-onset Afib, pacemakers, cardiac abnormalities, CHF, renal failure, pneumonia, COPD, psych/SI, altered mental status, acute kidney issues, dialysis, and chronic and acute wounds. RNs titrate heparin and amiodarone; Cardizem is used at fixed rates. RT equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP. Most patients are on telemetry; monitor tech coverage is 24/7, tele tech prints strips, and monitors are Nihon Koden. Med Tele service includes 5E MS/Tele (post-op cath lab, chest pain, COPD, cardiac dysrhythmias, CHF), 6E MS (ortho/surgery), 7E MS (psych), and 8E MS (various med-surg diagnoses, COPD exacerbation, CKD, wound care, occasional COVID).

Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling with manager balancing; initial schedule will be assigned rather than self-scheduled. Minimum of 6 Saturdays or Sundays in a 6-week period. Holidays worked at manager discretion based on unit needs. No call.
