Required Skills/Experience: Minimum 3–4 years of recent Level III NICU experience required. Strong experience caring for high-acuity and critically ill neonates. Therapeutic cooling experience required.
Required Credentials: Driver's license is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license. Ascension Core Competencies required during onboarding; minimum 80% or the national benchmark passing score, 2 attempts allowed. Ascension Specialty Exam required during onboarding; minimum 80% or the national benchmark passing score, 2 attempts allowed.
Special Requests: Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles. Candidates need to have employment separation for at least 6 months to be considered for a travel position.
Unit Details: Level III NICU caring for premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates, including infants requiring therapeutic hypothermia/cooling. Advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support for high-acuity neonates. Uses ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen. Manages central lines, PICC lines, umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), and other invasive devices. Administers and titrates IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products. Participates in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
