Travel Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Oncology Unit

Required Skills/Experience:
Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (PHO): 1 year in pediatric hem/oncology acute care.
Pediatric Adolescent Medicine (PA): 1 year in pediatric acute care.
First-time travelers are accepted with a strong pediatric background.
Required skills include central line management, chemotherapy administration, strong pediatric assessment, and critical thinking.

Unit Details:
Patient population includes leukemia, solid tumors, sickle cell crisis, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, behavioral health overlay, and general adolescent medicine.
Pediatric Adolescent Medicine RN ratio: 1:4-5.
Support includes CNA assistance with vital signs, ADLs, safety rounding, and I&Os; receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomy, and an IV/VAT team for difficult peripheral access.
Resource nurse availability varies.
RT, hospitalist, and intensivist support is available 24/7.
Bedside telemetry monitoring is used; no telemetry technician is available.
Uses Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing.

Shift & Scheduling:
Every other weekend.
No call.
Travelers will work 75% of holidays.
Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.

Floating Requirements:
Will work routinely between PA and PHO and other units in Brenner except Peds ED.
