Travel Nurse (RN) - Intermediate Care Unit

Required Skills/Experience:

• 1 year of telemetry/cardiac monitoring experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience with trach patients requiring continuous BiPAP/long term vent support.
• Experience with titratable drips including dopamine, dobutamine, nitro, cardene, ketamine, heparin, Cardizem, and amiodarone.
• Experience with CIWA assessments and alcohol/drug withdrawal treatment.

Unit Details:

• High acuity stepdown/progressive care unit.
• High throughput unit accommodating rapid responses, ED admissions, and ICU transfers.
• Uses bedside monitors, Alaris IV pumps, heated humidity high flow O2, BiPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy equipment, kangaroo feeding pumps, gastric tubes, and surgical drains.
• Typical procedures include emergent cardioversion.
• Procedures requiring moderate sedation are performed in a procedural area.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend, alternatively 4 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per month.
• Delayed start is utilized rather than on-call shifts if census is low.

Floating Requirements:

• May float to cardiac surgery IMC, med-tele, med-surg, and ortho-neuro.
