Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • 3 years of experience is preferred.

Required Credentials:

  • Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting; lethal rhythms are pass/fail and only one attempt is allowed.

Special Requests:

  • Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
  • Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
  • Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
  • Cannot have another job while on assignment.

Unit Details:

  • Virtual hospital setting with remote surveillance for multiple locations via a central monitoring station.
  • Responsibilities include recognizing, recording, and reporting potentially dangerous cardio-pulmonary rhythm changes and arrhythmias and notifying local RN staff of changes.
  • Work is primarily performed in a centralized monitoring unit under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Each technician may monitor 45-60 patients.
  • Uses Cerner, GE, and Ascom.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must be available for 2-3 day shifts for orientation.
  • No set schedules.
  • Must work 4 weekend shifts during a schedule. For night shift, weekends are Friday and Saturday; for day shift, weekends are Saturday and Sunday. Example: could work every other weekend or choose every Saturday during a 4 week period to accomplish the 4 shifts.
  • Call requirements: none, but call can occur if the census drops and someone is on low census.

Floating Requirements:

  • ER float positions will require floating between different ER satellite locations in the area. A home base facility will try to be established; however, this may not be the facility the clinician is regularly at. A schedule will be made in advance so clinicians are aware of which location they will report to.
  • Opportunity to cross train to Virtual Patient Companion or Clinical Connection Specialists.

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
