Additional Details:

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 3+ years of L&D experience in a high-risk facility and couplet care experience required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in an academic setting preferred.

Unit Details:

  • Neonatal, adolescent, and adult patient population.
  • Caring for patients throughout their childbirth experience (antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum/couplet care), including circulating NSVDs and C-Sections.
  • Patients with post-dural puncture headache requiring blood patch.
  • Intrauterine pregnancy > 20 weeks with acute conditions or > 12 weeks gestation for operative obstetric procedures (e.g. cerclage).
  • 2nd trimester pregnancy loss requiring mIOL.
  • Term pregnancy in labor and/or with SROM or prodromal labor requiring pain management.
  • PTL and/or PPROM.
  • Non-reassuring fetal heart rate patterns.
  • Maternal cardiopulmonary instability.
  • Scheduled IOLs.
  • High risk condition jeopardizing maternal or fetal well being.
  • Patients requiring delivery of placenta following BOA.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Four weekend shifts (Fri night and/or Sat night) every 4 week schedule.

Floating Requirements:

  • Flexing to couplet care and UCLA Santa Monica Hospital Perinatal unit is required as needed.
