Required Skills/Experience:
Conscious sedation competency required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Minimum 2 years of ER experience preferred; pediatric-specific experience is not required.
Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care experience is preferred.
Required Credentials:
Must pass the EKG exam at orientation.
CPI or de-escalation module onsite is required.
Unit Details:
Patient population includes pediatric patients ages 0–20.
Equipment includes Alaris pumps, EPOC and i-STAT point-of-care testing devices.
Lifesaving equipment includes hypothermia devices, hands-free CPR equipment, rapid infusers and invasive monitoring equipment.
Staffing ratios are subject to change based on facility needs and are not guaranteed.
Shift & Scheduling:
Shift windows are primarily 7:30a–8:00p or 11:30a–12:00a, with occasional 3:30p–4:00a shifts.
Every other weekend and every other holiday are required.
No call.
Floating Requirements:
Floating may include assisting with rapid response and providing charge nurse coverage on night shift.
