Travel Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Intensive Care Unit

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience:
Required cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills/experience include interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, and obtaining 12-lead EKGs.
IV insulin protocols experience is required.
Chronic/acute renal failure experience is required.
Required IV therapy skills/experience includes arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, and starting IVs.
Required medication skills/experience includes continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, titration of cardiac drips, and titration of vasoactive drips.
Required respiratory/thoracic case skills/experience includes assisting with management of BiPAP, assisting with management of CPAP, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, care of ventilated patients, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of ABGs, suctioning (ETT, NT), and ventilator management.
Required professional topics and skills include infection prevention, isolation precautions/use of PPE, and surgical wounds with drains/wound vac.

Special Requests:
RTO ideally no more than 5 days.
A parking permit is required at no cost.

Unit Details:
Adult and geriatric patient population.
Patient population includes COPD, CHF, AKI/ARF, DKA, OD, postsurgical patients, hyperkalemia, hyponatremia, and GI bleeds.
Unit context includes chest tubes, bedside dialysis catheter insertion, and central line insertion.
Rapid response teams provide support.

Shift & Scheduling:
Every other weekend.
No call.
