Required Skills/Experience:
Comfort managing patients on ventilators is required.
Proficiency in reading telemetry strips is required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Thirty-six months of RN experience, including at least one year in an ICU, is preferred.
One previous successful travel nursing assignment, preferably in a facility that used Meditech, is preferred.
CRRT skills are preferred.
Advanced hemodynamics experience is preferred.
Phlebotomy skills are preferred.
Nurses administer breathing treatments outside of the ICU, including inhalers and nebulizers.
Unit Details:
The unit is a mixed ICU.
Patient ratios are 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3/4 when holding inpatient PCU/med-surg admissions.
i-Mobile phones are provided for each care team member, along with mobile computer workstations on wheels.
Bedside shift report is used for every patient at each transfer of care.
Unit procedures and equipment include post-op day 0 CABG (fresh heart from OR), Impellas, balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz, advanced hemodynamics, neuro procedures for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVDs, Codman bolts, and Arctic Sun with induced hypothermia.
Travelers may receive training in Neuro ICU or Cardiovascular ICU care and in caring for patients with head and neck flap procedures.
Shift & Scheduling:
Travelers are expected to work every other weekend, and holidays rotate with hospital employees.
Flexible contract hours: 48 per week.
Floating Requirements:
Travelers are first to float and may be sent to the Emergency Department or PCU to care for PCU or ICU holds.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
