Required Skills/Experience: Aseptic and sterile techniques, basic dressing changes, ventilator and trach management, suctioning, g-tube/j-tube management, feeding tubes, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, drip management, Foley insertion and management, and discharge skills.

Preferred Skills/Experience: CRRT experience with Prismax preferred. CICU experience preferred.

Required Credentials: If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.

Special Requests: Any RTO or special requests not included on your application will not be considered. You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit and shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit and facility.

Unit Details: Patient population includes respiratory patients (high flow, CPAP, BiPAP), trachs, chemo, RSV, asthma, COVID; medical cases including MIS-C, new onset diabetes with insulin drips, chronically ill patients, and oncology; trauma including falls and MVAs; cardiovascular congenital heart defect patients from surgery through discharge; Stat category 1, 2, 3, occasionally 4; and surgical cases including appys, g-tubes, ENT, fresh trachs, bowel obstructions, broken bones, VP shunts, cardiac, and neuro. No solid organ transplant, major burns, or stem cell transplant. Tier 3 during COVID surge: provide care up to age 30 (extremely rare). Severe facial wounds, eye injuries, or penetrating trauma go to the Level 1 trauma center at Harborview. ECMO specialists manage the ECMO machine. Travelers may take CRRT patients if they have previous experience and train with the Prismax; CRRT volume is low and these patients will likely go to core staff. PICU overflow may include neuro, cardiac, respiratory, surgical, and medical patients.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend rotation.

Floating Requirements: Float to MedSurg, ED, or NICU as Helping Hands or Constant Observer.
