Preferred Skills/Experience: Chest tube management; chest tube removal; pacer wire removal; 12-lead EKGs. O2 management up to BiPAP and heated high flow. Drips: heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, ketamine.
Unit Details: Fast-paced, high-acuity progressive/intermediate cardiac unit. Uses telemetry, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires/pacers, IV pumps, and SCD pumps. Typical cases include post-cath care for right and left heart caths, TAVRs, ablations, Watchman procedures, pacemaker implantations, TR band management, and neurovascular checks; post-thoracic surgery care for VATS/RATS, resections, lobectomies, and chest tube management; pre- and post-care of open-heart surgical patients including CABGs, MVRs, AVRs, and aortic dissection repairs; and vascular surgery post-op care.
