Required Credentials:
One of the following is required: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program.
Unit Details:
Verifies ordered exams and appropriateness using assessment data and principles of growth and development.
Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals.
Positions patients and equipment to achieve optimal images.
Produces and retains high-quality diagnostic images using imaging, computer, and other equipment.
Works with physicians to evaluate images and determine whether additional images are needed.
Applies radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
Prepares patients for procedures, provides education, and responds to questions or concerns.
Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment, and services as part of their training.
