Required Skills/Experience:
2+ years of recent MedSurg and Tele experience are required; experience with neuro care, MIs, and trachs is also required.
Must be able to care for patients with complex medical needs.
Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Critical care experience preferred.
Special Requests:
Previous permanent staff are not eligible to be submitted as travelers.
Unit Details:
Nurses Only - BMC does not have telemetry technicians.
Automated medication dispensing is used on the unit.
Patient population includes a mix of IMCU, neurology, and MedSurg patients, with high volumes of neuro, medical, and cardiology patients.
Unit care includes chronic ventilators, tracheostomies, and high-acuity heart failure.
Patient ratios average 1:3 for IMCU patients, 1:4 or 1:4-5 for MedSurg patients.
Shift & Scheduling:
Day/night schedule.
Schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday.
