Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed. If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Unit Details: Flex unit serving both floor/Med-Surg and step-down patients based on patient and hospital needs. Primarily medical patient population. Ratios for step down 3:1, floor 6:1. RNs will have orders written to titrate drips. Common titratable and/or set rate drips: heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, morphine/dilaudid/fentanyl PCAs, TPN. CPAP and BiPAP on floor and stepdown; HiFlow and vents in stepdown. If vents need settings adjusted, patients go to ICU. Remote telemetry surveillance center with central monitoring available on the unit. RNs are not expected to read their own strips. Uses Phillips telemetry monitoring equipment.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Expect to work about half of all WVUH recognized holidays. No call or standby requirement.
Floating Requirements: First to float or be pulled to other floor/stepdown units.
