Travel Nurse (RN) - Psychiatric Unit

Required Skills/Experience:

• Crisis intervention, including immediate short-term support for patients in crisis such as suicidal ideation or aggression, with de-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Assess patients' mental health status, including recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems; taking thorough patient histories, observing behavior, and using diagnostic tools.
• Develop individualized care plans for patients with mental health and behavioral issues, including setting goals, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes.
• Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions; knowledge of psychotropic medications.

Unit Details:

• Patient population includes adolescents ages 12-18, lower-acuity adult patients, higher-acuity adult patients with thought disorder diagnoses, and senior adult patients.
• Monitors patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Flexible contract hours: 48 per week preferred.
• Includes weekends.

Floating Requirements:

• Floating to ADOL, Serenity, ITU, SRAD, and VINE based on greatest need.

Details:
