Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Unit

Required Skills/Experience:

• 24 months of MS/Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting required.
• PCA and heparin experience required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Post-op surgical experience highly preferred.
• Patient care experience with hip/knee cases, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries, including medical-surgical patients, is highly preferred.

Special Requests:

• Any past employee of UPH, whether FTE or PRN for the UPH float pool, cannot work a travel assignment in another market regardless of which facility they currently work at or have worked at within the past 12 months. If they worked travel at UPH (not FTE or PRN), the separation policy does not apply.

Unit Details:

• Patient types include hip/knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries.
• Common drips include PCA and heparin.
• The unit has an emotional support canine.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Flexible contract hours: 48 or 36 per week.
• Unless the unit is closed, the clinician is required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year.
• Every 3rd weekend is required.
• No call.

Floating Requirements:

• Required to float across campuses and units to like units, including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist.
