Additional Details:

Required Credentials:

  • Required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
  • RN jobs in the following units: Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, ED/ER, Endoscopy, any ICU/critical care, IR, LTAC ICU, Med-Surg/Tele, Tele, PACU, Stepdown/PCU are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must have 1 year experience.
  • If they are only IR focused we require 1 year of either IR, ICU, or ER experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Strongly prefer knowledge of how to tech for GI cases.
  • The skillset most needed is GI; if the candidate has strong IR experience with no GI, will consider as well.

Special Requests:

  • An interview may not be available prior to offer.
  • Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
  • References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
  • Submission Limit: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
  • Hybrid GI/IR role: IR/procedural sedation in the morning and GI in the afternoon.
  • GI duties: Travelers will be primarily a circulator unless experienced teching GI cases; will not do pre-op or recovery.
  • IR duties: Circulating and procedural sedation; will not do pre-op or recovery.
  • No GI techs; RNs work in this role. IR techs will scrub.
  • Common GI cases: EGDs, colonoscopies, ERCPs; most cases are outpatient and basic, with occasional stents and banding for bleeds.
  • Common IR cases: Tunneled dialysis catheters, paracentesis, thoracentesis, liver biopsies; basic IR with no vascular cases.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 10-hour shifts plus required call.
  • GI call coverage Monday-Friday 4:00 PM-8:00 AM and Saturday-Sunday 7:00 AM-8:00 AM (25 hours).
  • Will take 1 holiday during the contract if holidays fall during the assignment.

Floating Requirements:

  • If there are no cases to support the 10-hour workload, may float to other units for support depending on skill set, including other GI or IR departments and ICU or ER if qualified.
  • May float to a sister hospital.
