Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
Required Skills/Experience: Basic arrhythmia knowledge and ability to recognize fatal rhythms required; permanent staff read strips.
Special Requests: Cannot apply to more than 1 position at a time across the WVU system. Previous perm candidates must be gone for 2 years. Previous travelers who completed 1 full year must be gone for 2 years. Cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. Travel pairs must be submitted together. If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from the perm facility. At least 1 reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job. Block scheduling may be allowed if included in the contract; nights are usually scheduled in blocks.
Unit Details: Remote telemetry monitoring. Heparin and Protonix drips only; no titratable or cardiac drips. Uses BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen. No IV team; uses B-Braun and Omnicell. Common patient types/cases include joint replacements, spine cases, occipital burr holes, seizures, craniotomies, brain stim cases, hip traction on nights, Buck's traction, and MedSurg overflow.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; night shift weekends are Fri/Sat/Sun. Rotating holidays as needed based on unit needs.
Floating Requirements: Floats to any MedSurg unit; does not float to ED or Behavioral Health.
