Dress Code: Artificial nails are not permitted. Hair coloring must be natural colors; acceptable hair coverings should be worn if hair coloring is outside of natural color. Visible face and neck tattoos are not acceptable. Tattoos reflecting racial, nudity, or derogatory images or words must be covered.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to titrate all critical drips. Must be able to mix drips, e.g. Amio, cardizem, Epi, Insulin, etc.
Unit Details: Cares for patients ranging from minor injuries to major traumas, STEMIs, and strokes, including oil field-related crush injuries, burns, and finger injuries/losses. Travelers are not asked to step into the charge role. ED tech/CNAs assist with secretary duties, vital signs, ADLs, and I/Os. Respiratory therapy is designated to the ED during the day; at night RT covers the whole hospital. RNs manage respiratory equipment, respiratory treatments, and 12 lead EKGs. RNs are required to read and interpret telemetry and EKGs. X-ray and CT are available 24/7; ultrasound, MRI, and portable imaging are available, and staff assist with transport. Phlebotomy is available, and RNs may draw labs if needed.
Special Requests: Block scheduling is not guaranteed. The manager will ask for an ideal schedule, but travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent staff schedules. The manager will try to accommodate agency nurse requests; however, staff schedules will not be compromised to accommodate special schedule requests.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. May be asked to participate in the holiday rotation. No call.
