Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 2 years of MS, PCU, ICU experience. Must have experience in setting within the last 1 year.
  • Must have drip experience.
  • Must be open to learning ventilator care.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Home trach/vent experience highly preferred.

Special Requests:

  • At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job.
  • Must take a full 6 months off from any Sanford Health or Good Samaritan Society location. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.
  • Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level if applicable, patient ratio, and whether the facility was a teaching facility.
  • Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
  • Cannot guarantee same shifts for travel duos.
  • Previous Marshfield employees must have an end date at least 6 months before submission.

Unit Details:

  • Patient ratios: Days 1:4-5; nights 1:5-6, dependent on acuity.
  • Neuro and trauma patient population includes strokes, seizures, Guillain-Barré, myasthenia gravis, spinal injuries, thrombectomies, TNK/TPA 24 hours post, endovascular cases, altered mental status, dementia, hematomas and bleeds, falls on thinners, and farm and motor vehicle accidents.
  • Titrated drips include heparin, nitro, diltiazem, amiodarone, 3%, and insulin.
  • Respiratory equipment includes vents, trachs, CPAP, BiPAP, VapoTherm, and EtCO2.
  • Central telemetry monitor is located in a different area.
  • Charge nurse assignment pattern: nights take a full team; days take a smaller assignment.
  • Nurse aides available: days 1:9; nights 1:12.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Typically 2 of 3 winter holidays; otherwise every other holiday.
  • Self-scheduling; manager balances the schedule, which opens 6 weeks in advance.
  • Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
  • No call.

Floating Requirements:

  • Float to sister med-surg units, including mixed care, cardiac, general, med-surg ortho, and heme/onc, to take more general patients.
