Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers accepted only if greater than 2 years of experience. PICU experience with ability to titrate drips and care for mechanically ventilated patients.

Required Credentials: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Special Requests: You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility. Requested time off will not be accepted between 8/5/26-8/20/26. Time off only if pre-approved.

Unit Details: Will work through both General Pediatrics and PICU. General Pediatrics cares for patients 0-18 years of age and adult overflow with stable medical/surgical cases including s/p appendectomy, s/p cholecystectomy, cellulitis, respiratory illness, diabetes, septicemia, hyperbilirubinemia, neglect/abuse, mental health, trauma, neurology, and general surgeries including ear/nose/throat, gastrointestinal, urological, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and trauma. PICU cares for patients 0-18 years of age requiring critical or intensive care services, including acute and chronic respiratory insufficiency, circulatory failure, infectious diseases leading to major organ system dysfunction, endocrine and metabolic disorders, neurologic diseases, toxic ingestions/exposures, trauma, and hematologic/oncologic disease. RN ratios: General Pediatrics 1:5; PICU 1:1-2. RNs and nurse aids draw their own labs. RNs start their own IVs; ultrasound is available for difficult IVs. One charge nurse covers both units. Support includes a Nurse Clinician/Nurse Educator, Case Management, Social Work, RT, Hospitalist with Pediatric APP support, Pediatric Pharmacy, and Pediatric Social Work. Uses Omnicell. Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. May be placed on low census/on call. Holidays as required.

Floating Requirements: May float to NICU or General Pediatrics. NICU is feeder/growers with 1:3 ratios. Must be comfortable working General Pediatrics with ratios up to 1:5.
