Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience:
Must have experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring and cardiac drips, and cardiac stepdown populations.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Low-level ICU skills preferred.
Unit Details:
Patient population includes cardiac patients with trauma and stepdown-level care; the unit uses telemetry monitoring.
Patient ratios are 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients.
Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre- and post-open-heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular conditions, and CHF.
Shift & Scheduling:
Every other weekend.
On-call is required only when census is low.
