Additional Details:

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must have experience and be able to attend deliveries; must be able to stabilize newborn, "eyes & thighs" and 2hr assessment.
  • Must have experience attending c-sections as delivery nurse; NICU RNs attend all c-sections — scheduled, urgent, and emergent.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Mother-baby background preferred.

Special Requests:

  • Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
  • Current or previous employees may be considered only with St. Luke’s Health System approval for a one-off exception.
  • Block scheduling is not guaranteed; cannot work 6 shifts in a row.
  • Travel duos need 2 cars and cannot share 1 car, as they could be at different sites or float during shift.

Unit Details:

  • Level II NICU caring for 32 weeks and greater.
  • Common patient population includes respiratory distress, feeders and growers, hypoglycemia, and NAS scoring/opioid withdrawal.
  • May have the NICU nurse care for the NICU baby and mom, and another baby.
  • No titratable or set-rate drips.
  • Uses Epic.
  • NICU CPAP only; vented patients are transferred to a level III NICU.
  • Continuous monitoring with a centralized monitoring system.
  • NICU is embedded within 7 LDRP rooms.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Weekends as needed based on unit needs and requests.
  • No set holiday requirement for travel RNs; may work a holiday if there is a need during the contract.
  • No call required.

Floating Requirements:

  • Float to all St. Luke’s Treasure Valley sites — Meridian, Nampa, and Boise — in the NICU or as a sitter.
