Travel Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Transitional Care Unit

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

• Telemetry experience required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass) within a year preferred.
• CVICU experience preferred.

Unit Details:

• Primary patient population is CV surgery and vascular surgery to include open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR, etc.), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy, etc.), esophagogastrectomy, AAA (open and endovascular), fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomies.
• Also receives overflow medical cardiology patients with diagnoses of heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block.
• Patient ratios: 1:5 patients per RN, 1:13 for PCTs.
• Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts.
• Typical procedures include epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV Glucommander, and cardiac gtt management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine).

Shift & Scheduling:

• No call.
• Weekend requirement minimum: 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6 week schedule period.
• Flexible to work holidays.

Floating Requirements:

• Any SD (1:5 ratios) or MS (1:6-7 ratios) unit, ER inpatient holding area (1:6).
