Unit Details:
Patient load will build up to 100%.
Patient population includes general medicine, neurologic, orthopedic, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, surgical, ICU, and joint-replacement patients; ED patients are less common.
Daily workflow includes chart review, making a schedule, patient care/evaluations until 12ish, a 1245 huddle, and returning to work in the afternoon.
The clinician may be paired with a PT initially to help with workflow.
Patient care includes transferring patients with lines and drains and working with very acutely ill diagnoses.
Shift & Scheduling:
Monday-Friday schedule.
10-hour days are also available.
Late-joint coverage is required on a rotating basis, not every night; the last joint is seen at 5:00 PM, and the clinician is out by 6:30 PM at the absolute latest.
No call.
No weekend shifts.
