Required Skills/Experience: 2 years cardiac open heart recovery experience. At least 2 previous travel assignments. Strong Surgical IMC experience. ICU experience required for management of high acuity IMC patients. Experience with high acuity patients. Experience caring for patients 1+ days out from CABG, valve repairs, and valve replacements.
Unit Details: Surgical cardiovascular step-down/IMC unit caring for patients recovering from cardiac and vascular surgeries. Heavy cardiovascular post-op step-down population. Cares for patients with mechanical circulatory support devices such as LVADs and patients recovering from heart and lung transplants. Mixed levels of care including IMC/continuous cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and non-monitored/floor assignments for post-op cardiac, vascular, and thoracic patients. Nurse-patient ratios are typically 1:3 during the day and 1:4 at night.
