Additional Information

Required Skills/Experience: Must be comfortable with IV starts. Basic telemetry arrhythmia knowledge required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: TURPS-CBI experience/knowledge preferred. Critical Access or Trauma Level 3 or 4 experience preferred.

Special Requests: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job. Must take a full 6 months off from any Sanford Health or Good Samaritan Society location. Previous employment must be disclosed on the resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, and whether the facility was teaching. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Skills checklist cannot contain any N/As; all lines must have a numerical rating. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed; longer blocks of 6 shifts may be considered when able. Must note in submission if the clinician has ever worked for Marshfield. If previously employed by Marshfield, the end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission.

Unit Details: Nurse:patient ratios are 5:1 on day shift, 6:1 at 11pm, and 2:7 in team nursing with LPNs. LPNs work until 11. Common diagnoses/cases include NHP, cellulitis, UTI, COPD, GU, pacemaker, sepsis, nursing home placements, and day-surgical ortho (hips and knees), choles, appys, and TURPS-CBI. Small peds population (3/yr); travelers are not assigned these patients unless they have prior experience or there are no other options. Limited resources onsite: no IV team, and RT covers the entire hospital. RNs do not titrate drips. Charge nurse takes an assignment; travelers may be placed as relief charge. Nurse aides are available. Hospitalist coverage is in house until 6pm daily, then telemed. RT is available 24/7; equipment includes CPAP. Telemetry strips are done daily in ICU; physical monitor at the nurses' desk.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend rotation, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 2/3 holidays required. Self-scheduling is accommodated when possible. Potential for call/standby.

Floating Requirements: Must be able to float to like units and patients.
