Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience:
Proficient/advanced skills in CABGs, thoracoscopies, and lung resections are required.
Open-heart experience is required.
Experience with CABG (on and off pump), TAVR, open valve replacement, thoracic lung, and robotics is required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Robotic lung experience is preferred.
Charge experience for RNs is preferred.
Unit Details:
Common cases include Ortho, Gyne, OB, Plastics, General, Cardiovascular, Neuro, Urology, Breast, and Podiatry.
The patient population includes all ages.
Shift & Scheduling:
Monday through Friday.
Weekday call is 3P-7A; weekend call is 7-7 Saturday and Sunday.
Weekend coverage is every other weekend/as needed.
Call is required but rarely utilized. Weekend open-heart cases are very limited, with approximately 6–8 cases performed on a Saturday or Sunday each year.
Open-heart cases are frequently completed by 1500, making the weekday heart call from 1500–0700 infrequently utilized as well.
The purpose of this call coverage is to ensure a team is available to respond to urgent open-heart cases should the need arise.
Floating Requirements:
Will float to the main OR as needed.
