Additional Details:

Required Credentials:

  • Must pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
  • Pass/fail open-book exam on Friday during orientation on skills learned; must score 90% to pass or the contract will be terminated.

Special Requests:

  • Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
  • Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
  • Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
  • RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.

Unit Details:

  • Fast-paced trauma ICU at the system's Level 1 trauma center; receives many transfers and ED admits.
  • Cares for adults and pediatric patients older than 15 with trauma injuries, sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, and cardiac arrest.
  • RNs titrate vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics.
  • Clinical exposure includes CVP, IABP, Impella, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, EV1000, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol with Zoll-Thermoguard, Bell Mont rapid transfuser, and respiratory support from nasal cannula to ventilators.
  • Uses Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring; RNs must read and interpret strips.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Self-scheduling is managed by the manager based on unit needs.
  • Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period.

Floating Requirements:

  • Float to inpatient units, excluding Maternity and NICU.
