Additional Information

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years pre-op experience required; surgicenter experience is not accepted because it does not reflect the level of patient complexity seen in a Level I trauma center.

Required Credentials:

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required.

Unit Details:

  • Monitors post-operative patients' recovery and level of consciousness after anesthesia, obtains and records vital signs, observes for side effects of anesthesia medication, treats pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms as prescribed, updates charting and medical records, and educates patients and families on post-surgery care.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Schedule may be 4/10s or 5/8s.
  • Call possible.
