Required Skills/Experience:
First-time travelers may be considered if they are experienced with the services provided by the facility.
The RN must be able to circulate the listed cases.
RN experience with the da Vinci XI robotic surgical system is required.

Special Requests:
RTO requires manager approval.

Unit Details:
The facility currently has no trauma designation; beginning 1/1/2027, it will undergo a trial period to collect data toward becoming a trauma center and will operate as a Level 3 trauma center.
Case mix includes gynecologic procedures such as hysterectomy, BSO, tubal ligation, LAVH, TVH, sling procedures, ablation, myomectomy and hysteroscopies.
General cases include breast and plastic surgery, vascular, laparoscopic, general oncology, genitourinary, gynecology and da Vinci XI robotic procedures.
Robotic cases include bariatric, hernia, gallbladder and hysterectomy procedures.
Urology cases include cystoscopies, TURPs and bladder cancer or tumor resections.
Orthopedic cases include total joint procedures involving knees, hips and shoulders, as well as fractures.
Podiatry cases include foot and ankle procedures.
Additional case types include plastics and cataract procedures.
ENT cases include tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, sinus surgeries and neck dissections.
Endoscopy cases include colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, bronchoscopy and EBUS; endoscopy volume is very high, and total joint, endoscopy and vascular cases make up a large portion of the surgeries.
The OR averages 25-45 cases per day.
The OR uses a da Vinci XI robotic surgical system, Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis for medication dispensing.

Shift & Scheduling:
RN call may be scheduled for a maximum of every other weekend and one weeknight per week, based on department needs.
Weekend call runs from Friday 2300 to Monday 0630; weeknight call runs from 2300-0630.
All call is subject to minor changes.
Holiday coverage is by call only.
The call response time is 30 minutes for RNs and techs.
A call room is available for use.
Available shift times are 0630 - 1500 and 0630-1900.
Shifts will be two 12h days and two 8h days each week.
The schedule cycle is every 4-6 weeks.

Floating Requirements:
During call, the OR RN could float to PACU to act as the second PACU RN some nights; the OR RN would not be the primary RN and would not be expected to administer medications, perform charting, etc.
