Travel Nurse (RN) - Post Anesthesia Care Unit

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.

No medical marijuana cards accepted.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia; needs high acuity inpatient PACU and ICU/critical care experience. Phase I PACU, dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV starts, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, and care of ventilated patients.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience: Preferred Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Unit Details: Adult, occasional adolescent, and geriatric patient population in a Level I trauma center PACU. High acuity PACU area; approximately 80% of patients are admitted after their procedure or surgery. Recovers a wide variety of acute post-op patients; some require artificial airways, invasive monitoring including ICP, transfusions, and vasoactive drugs. Recovers neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant patients. Does not recover open heart surgeries or liver transplants. Unit has its own PCT/transport team.

Shift & Scheduling: BJC policy: Every other weekend required. Monday-Friday. No weekends, holidays, or call. RTO: No more than 7 days.

Floating Requirements: Float within scope to PACU or PreOp units.
