Unit Details: Ambulatory/urgent care setting. Rooming patients, collecting chief complaint, vital signs, and medication reconciliation, waiting room and exam room rounding, telephone triage, nurse in-basket work, specimen collection and processing, patient education, prescription refill support, pharmacy calls, and communicating test results via phone and My Carle. Administers medications IM, PO, rectal, IV, SQ, and inhaled. Performs ear washes, nebulizer treatments, peak flows, splint applications, crutch training, wound care, point-of-care testing, IV starts and therapy, vision screenings, EKGs, catheterizations, and suture/staple removal. Assists providers with vaginal exams, suture and staple placement, and incision and drainage. Member of the code team when needed.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend or flex. Rotating holidays. No call.
Floating Requirements: Travelers assigned to the Greater Peoria Service Area may be required to float between the following sites: Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and/or Carle Health Proctor Hospital. The Carle Leader will notify the traveler directly when there is a need to float between locations.
