Required Credentials:
Driver's license is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license.
Ascension Health does not accept vaccine/Tdap declinations.
Ascension EKG Exam required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80%; 2 attempts allowed.
Ascension Specialty Exam required during onboarding; minimum 80% or national benchmark passing score that demonstrates competency in the area of specialization; only 2 attempts allowed.
Ascension Core Competencies required during onboarding; minimum 80% or national benchmark passing score that demonstrates competency in the area of specialization; only 2 attempts allowed.
Ascension Pharmacology Exam required during onboarding; minimum 80% score; only 2 attempts allowed.

Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles.
Candidates need to have employment separation for at least 6 months to be considered for a travel position.
In order to receive travel rate, clinician's claimed residence must match address on driver's license.
Unit Details:
Mixed ICU/Step Down unit with ICU ratios 2:1 and Stepdown ratios 3:1.
Patient population includes severe respiratory failure (e.g., pneumonia, ARDS, COPD or asthma exacerbations) often requiring mechanical ventilation or high-flow oxygen support; sepsis and septic shock, frequently requiring vasopressors, invasive monitoring, and aggressive fluid management; hemodynamic instability, including hypotension, arrhythmias, or shock state; neurologic conditions such as altered mental status, metabolic encephalopathy, overdose, or stroke (non-surgical); complex metabolic and endocrine disorders, such as diabetic ketoacidosis, severe electrolyte abnormalities, or liver failure; cardiac conditions not requiring immediate intervention, including heart failure exacerbations, cardiomyopathy, or post-cardiac arrest care; gastrointestinal and hepatic failure, including GI bleeding, acute liver failure, or pancreatitis.
Typical patient needs and acuity: continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring; invasive lines (arterial lines); NIH and TNK therapy; mechanical ventilation, noninvasive ventilation, or advanced oxygen therapies; titrated IV medications (vasopressors, sedatives, insulin, antiarrhythmics); enteral or parenteral nutrition; frequent laboratory monitoring and complex medication regimens.
Shift & Scheduling:
Weekend and holiday rotation commitment.
Floating Requirements:
Required to float to sister unit 5S to take Stepdown patients at 1:3 or progressive level patients at 4:1.
