Required Skills/Experience: ADLs

Skills: Eye Drops, Oral, Subcutaneous, Ear Drops, IM & SQ, NG Tube/G Tube, Nasal Cannula, Oxygen administration, Face masks, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Bathing: sitz, tub, bed, shower, Mouth care, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Restraint Use, Admission of Patient, Vital Sign monitoring, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, MS/Tele, Blood Glucose Monitoring/Testing, Foley catheter insertion female, Foley catheter insertion male, Ambulation.

Preferred Skills/Experience: One (1) year recent full time paid clinical experience in an acute care health facility or ambulatory care facility.

Required Credentials:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Practical Nursing and current licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Illinois or ability to obtain license two weeks prior to starting employment.
  • Proof of successful completion of coursework for medication administration (Pharmacology) as a Practical Nurse in accordance with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) regarding Standards of Pharmacology/Administration for Medication Course for Practical Nurses (Must provide documentation at time of interview).

Special Requests: No more than 2 consecutive. No holiday RTO. No RTO the day prior or after a holiday. No RTO on weekends.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend/ 2 weekends per month

Floating Requirements: Cook is a mandatory float facility; all resources are required to float at the facility’s discretion. Cook has the ability to request that any clinician float outside of their “home” facility as long as the floating does not exceed 50 miles. Travelers may receive notification to float 2 hours before their shift. If your clinician refuses to float, they will be subject to cancelation. There are no home units. Your clinician could be floated to a variety of units, including outside of their primary area of competency. If they are floated outside of their primary competency, the team-based model will be used.
