Required Skills/Experience:
2 years recent ICU experience required.

Special Requests:
An interview with unit leaders may not be available prior to offer.
Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Submission Limit: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.
Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
RTO must be requested upfront: 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.

Unit Details:
The patient population includes adults and pediatric patients older than 15 years.
Common diagnoses and cases include neurosurgery (with an initiating neuro-interventionalist thrombectomy program), respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, general surgery, psychiatric/overdose cases, GI bleeds, and cancer-specific surgeries such as esophagectomy; internal chemotherapy administration is also performed.
Experience with neurosurgery, Impella/balloon pump, and CRRT is not required; these skills can be trained in real time.
Common equipment and monitoring include CVPs, A-lines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, Zoll-Thermoguard for hypothermia protocols, and a Bell Mont rapid transfuser.
RNs titrate vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics.
RN respiratory equipment responsibilities range from nasal cannula to ventilators.
RNs must read and interpret their own telemetry strips using Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring.
PCU nurse-patient ratios are 1:4-5, and MS nurse-patient ratios are 1:5-6.
The unit is fast-paced and volume fluctuates.
RNs collaborate on care with attendings and student providers, including fellows and residents.

Shift & Scheduling:
Unit shift times are 0630-1830 and 1830-0630; the manager will make the schedule based on unit needs.
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
Holiday coverage: 2 out of 3 major holidays, every other holiday, or as needed based on unit needs.

Floating Requirements:
Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU.
