Required Skills/Experience:
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
3-4 years of experience required.
Cardiac, general, thoracic, and vascular surgery case experience is required.
Experience with coronary artery bypass graft, mitral valve replacement, and pericardial window procedures is required.
Experience with abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, arteriovenous fistula repair, carotid endarterectomy, femoral-popliteal bypass graft, and vein stripping is required.
Experience with bronchoscopy, EGD, laparoscopic-assisted cases, and PEG tube placement/exchange is required.
Experience with amputations and gunshot/stab wounds is required.
Experience with case carts, drills, electrosurgical units, and fiber-optic light sources/cords is required.
Aseptic technique, isolation precautions, and laser safety are required.
Teaching hospital experience is required.
Allied clinicians that do not require a state license in hand must arrive 3 days prior to start for fingerprints.
Special Requests:
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
RTO is ideally limited to no more than 5 days.
A parking permit is required; there is no cost.
Unit Details:
Adult and geriatric patient population.
Daily caseload is 8 cases.
Shift & Scheduling:
Call is required 1-2 times per week and every 3-4 weekends.
Weekend call rotation starts at the end of shift on Friday (1645) and continues until Monday morning (0615); this rotation is once every 3-4 weeks.
Floating Requirements:
Will float as needed.
