Required Skills/Experience:
Strong pediatric experience is required, including ENT, dental, and orthopedic cases.
Experience recovering orthopedic, neurologic, general, urologic, dental (adult and pediatric), gynecologic, and pediatric ENT cases (T&A, BMT, etc.) is required.
Travelers should have experience monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and A-lines.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
2 years of experience preferred — all surgeries except heart surgery.
Critical care experience strongly preferred.
Special Requests:
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Unit Details:
Patients range from 8 months old to 100+ years old, including adolescents, adults, pediatric patients, and geriatric patients.
The unit performs all surgeries except heart surgery, with heavy volume of orthopedic, general, gynecologic, neurologic, and urologic cases.
Shift & Scheduling:
Monday to Friday.
Call required: 6-8 days per month (varies); self-scheduled.
Minimum of 1 weekend shift per contract.
Floating Requirements:
Must help with coverage in Pre-Op.
Nurses must orient to Pre-Op Holding. Pre-Op Holding and PACU are connected, so nurses float between them if needed. Nurses do not float to other departments.
