Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant specialty experience within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: IV start, telemetry, vents, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines. Hemodynamic monitoring/Swan Ganz cath (hard stop). Temporary pacemakers (hard stop). Chest tubes (hard stop).

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Preferred Skills/Experience: 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred. Previous travel experience preferred. Teaching hospital experience preferred.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to any Ohio State University facilities if you have an active application to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities.

Unit Details: Adult cardiovascular ICU patient population. Cares for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic ICU patients. Cases include CABG, valve repair, TAVR requiring ICU, structural repairs, heart transplant, lung transplant, VAD implantation, ECMO, aortic repairs, and esophageal repairs. Secondary diagnoses include low cardiac output syndrome, stroke, acute respiratory distress/failure, renal impairment/failure, diabetes mellitus, pulmonary embolus, pneumonia, sepsis, GI bleed, heart failure, unstable dysrhythmias, and post-procedure patients.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Minimum 4 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule block; up to 6 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule period. Friday/Saturday for night shift. Rotating holidays.

Floating Requirements: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity within the OSU organization as needed. Travelers would not rotate more than once every 4 weeks.
