Travel Nurse (RN) - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Required Skills/Experience:

• Must have delivery room high risk resuscitation experience, IV start, and lab draw experience.

Required Credentials:

• Cardiac STABLE required.

Special Requests:

• Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
• If previously employed at the facility, exceptions may be made but must be approved by St. Luke’s Health System.

Unit Details:

• Uses Epic.
• Level 2B NICU caring for infants 32 weeks and greater.
• Common diagnoses/types of patients: premature infants 32+ weeks, late preterm, sepsis, hypoglycemia, requiring oxygen (NC, Hi Flow NC, CPAP), NOWS/NAS, and feeding difficulties.
• Babies that need ventilation will be stabilized and transferred to Boise.
• May initiate drips for short-term management prior to transport to a higher level of care.
• Common titratable and/or set rate drips: Dopamine, Epinephrine.
• CPAP used routinely; vents available for emergencies.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Weekends as needed.
• Holiday requirement: based on unit needs.
• No call.
• Staff cannot work more than five shifts in a row.

Floating Requirements:

• First to float.
• Travelers required to float to like units within the valley (Nampa NICU and Boise NICU) to take a like assignment; in Meridian, travelers would not be expected to take a vented patient in Boise.
